POLYCARBONATE
ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins are amorphous thermoplastic based
on bisphenol-A Polycarbonate
SPECIAL
CHARACTERISTICS
Impact
Properties

ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins exhibit toughness and resilience
and are virtually unbreakable. Impact strength
is not adversely affected over a wide range
of heat and moisture conditions.
Mechanical
Properties

ESTOPLAST-ZK
has high tensile, flexural and creep properties
as well as hardness. ESTOPLAST-ZK un-reinforced
grades have Tensile Strength as high as
650 kgf/cm2.
Temperature
Resistance

ESTOPLAST-ZK
grades show outstanding thermal stability
and can withstand service temp. (without
load) of 135oC
for un-reinforced grades and 140oC
for reinforced grades. Dry polymer is stable
upto 370oC for
shorter periods and 320-350oC
for longer periods.
Electrical
Properties

ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins exhibit stable di-electric strength
and surface resistance over a wide frequency
and temperature range. No electrolytic corrosion.
Fire
Performance

ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins are inherently flame retarded and
conform to UL 94 V-2. Flame retarded grades
conforming to 94 V-0 are recommended for
critical applications involving fire hazards.
Dimensional
Stability

Being
amorphous in nature, ESTOPLAST-ZK resins
have very low and uniform shrinkage. Due
to low shrinkage, high creep modulus and
very low co-efficient of thermal expansion,
glass reinforced grades exhibit superior
dimensional stability even under load.
Weather/UV
Resistance

ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins exhibit good weather/UV resistance,
retention of mechanical properties and excellent
colour fastness. UV-stabilised grades are
recommended for critical outdoor applications.
Surface
Finish

Available
in a wide variety of colours, ESTOPLAST-ZK
resins offer smooth, glossy surface which
makes them suitable for use in products
where surface appearance is a critical factor.
